SOD Turning @ Edgars Creek Secondary College

On Monday 19th June, 2017 the official Turing of the SOD took place on site at the new location for Edgars Creek Secondary School which was officiated by the Honourable Mr. James Merlino.

This project has already commenced and due to be completed by the start of 3rd Term 2018. Edgars Creek Secondary College will provide the surrounding community with a co-educational Year 7-12 college and consist of in this initial stage a two-storey, state-of-the-art STEM building, with a series of science labs and flexible break-out spaces upstairs, and material tech and digital technology learning spaces downstairs. The spaces have been specifically designed to cater for contemporary teaching and learning approaches with a focus on interdisciplinary project-based learning in the areas of design, technology and the sciences. Central tiered seating will offer a presentation space for students, and act as a gathering spot for important meetings and ceremonies. The new school will also include an additional two-storey administration and library resource centre, which can be shared with the community as a professional development centre.

Further infrastructure is planned for the school and the VBA are working closely with the City of Whittlesea to ensure this is delivered both for the school and surrounding communities.
